Fred Rolando’s written testimony to the Das panel.

Below is Fred Rolando’s written testimony to the Das panel.

At page 8 there is a section called NALC Proposals. That section includes both the creation of the CCA classification and Rolando’s agreement to the $12,000 cut in starting pay that resulted in Table 2.

At the end of the testimony Rolando urges the Das panel to accept NALC’s proposals. The Das panel did exactly what Rolando asked them to do, as you may confirm by googling “Das Award.”

In short, NALC won the Das arbitration — it got exactly what it asked for. But Rolando and Renfroe told the membership that NALC lost the Das arbitration. That was a lie.

The reason they lied — and have continued to lie since 2013 — is because they didn’t want the membership to know the part they played in creating the CCA classification and Table 2.

Their lies should disqualify Rolando and Renfroe from holding NALC office. Beyond the lies, the decisions to create the CCA classification and create Table 2 showed terrible judgment.

Previous iterations of NALC – and I was in one of them – fought hard over the decades to minimize non-career employment and to raise letter carrier pay. With a snap of their fingers, Rolando/Renfroe wiped away decades of accomplishments.
